Account Deletion

You can delete your DiaBuddy account and all associated personal data at any time. We believe you should have full control over your data.

How to Delete Your Account

Method 1: In-App Deletion (Recommended)

  1. Open the DiaBuddy app
  2. Go to Settings (gear icon)
  3. Tap Account
  4. Tap Delete Account
  5. Confirm your decision when prompted

Method 2: Email Request

If you are unable to access the App, you can request account deletion by emailing us at support@diabuddy.app from the email address associated with your DiaBuddy account. Please include "Account Deletion Request" in the subject line.

What Gets Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data will be permanently removed:

  • Account information: Your name, email address, and profile data
  • Food logs: All scanned and manually entered food records
  • Photos: Any food photos stored on our servers
  • Health data: Diabetes status, dietary preferences, and health metrics
  • Analytics: Your nutrition history, streaks, and progress data
  • Preferences: App settings and notification preferences

Deletion Timeline

  • Your account will be deactivated immediately upon confirmation
  • All personal data will be permanently deleted from our servers within 30 days
  • During this period, your data cannot be recovered
  • Some anonymized, aggregated data (not linked to you) may be retained for service improvement

Important: Cancel Your Subscription First

Deleting your DiaBuddy account does NOT automatically cancel your subscription. If you have an active Premium subscription, please cancel it before deleting your account to avoid further charges:

Cancel on iOS

  1. Open your iPhone/iPad Settings
  2. Tap your name (Apple ID) at the top
  3. Tap Subscriptions
  4. Find DiaBuddy and tap it
  5. Tap Cancel Subscription

Cancel on Android

  1. Open the Google Play Store app
  2. Tap your profile icon at the top right
  3. Tap Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions
  4. Find DiaBuddy and tap it
  5. Tap Cancel subscription

After Deletion

  • You will be signed out of the App immediately
  • You will no longer be able to log in with your previous account
  • If you wish to use DiaBuddy again, you will need to create a new account
  • Previously deleted data cannot be restored
